Why Now Is a Great Time for Repairs

We’re celebrating 50 years in service to the community with $50 OFF any repair! Do you need a better reason to prioritize repairs now instead of putting them off? If so, that’s okay. We have a whole list of reasons to encourage you to invest in this important service.

When you act now, you avoid the chances of repair needs causing permanent damage inside your unit and the system breaking down completely. If this happens, you’re not saving money on repairs – you’re spending more. First, you’ll pay more because you’ll need an emergency appointment instead of a regular service appointment.

Emergency repairs cost more, whether you call our team or another HVAC company in the area. You’ll also spend more on the repair itself because the problem worsened. Putting off a service appointment will only cost more as time passes.

Red Flags of Gas Furnace Operation

How do you know when to call for service? If you haven’t had a professional inspect your system in the past 12 months or longer, then it’s definitely time to call. You can also pay attention to other signs that your furnace may be struggling with operation, including:

  • Persistent noises like clicking, humming, or buzzing
  • Loud or alarming sounds like booming or banging
  • Bad odors that you can’t explain
  • A cracked or damaged heat exchanger
  • Significant buildup inside the indoor cabinet
  • A pilot light that burns yellow or orange instead of blue
  • Suspecting a gas leak

It’s always better to be safe than sorry. This is especially true when gas lines are involved. Call for service if you suspect anything is wrong with your gas furnace. Our team can then check it out and either fix it or give you peace of mind that everything is okay.

Risks of Skipping Out on Repairs

When you put off calling for a repair appointment or ignore the signs that something is wrong, you put your family’s safety at risk. Gas furnaces can leak harmful carbon monoxide. If you have a gas furnace – or any other gas service – be sure to install carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Then, have them tested annually.

You also run the risk of your heater sustaining permanent damage. For example, if you hear booming coming from your gas furnace, then it means that small explosions are occurring at the beginning of a heating cycle. If these explosions continue or worsen, the heat exchanger may crack and allow carbon monoxide to leak out.

If your heat exchanger cracks, it cannot usually be repaired. To prevent carbon monoxide fumes from leaking out, your entire heater needs to be replaced. If you have an older heater, this may not be entirely unexpected. But if your heater is still newer, replacing it can be an expense you didn’t plan on.
